Will it work with Steinberg systemlink? I know it already has it's own
linking protocall.

Hi DJ,
No.
It can easily be setup as a fx/vst rack though on a separate machine.

It also uses a FXteleportish function called remote.

The program does need some polishing and features added still but
compared to any other app I've seen they have moved farther and faster.
I've seen more feature addition ands bugs fixes in a month period
then I've seen some companies do in their entire history. Oh and for
personal use it's $39.00. Oh and it has as good or better features than
programs costing hundreds or even thousands. It's actually selling at
the price SAW Studio should be selling for considering the very
comparable feature set. Ouch

Here is a like to the manual.

Gotta love an app that's packed installer is half the size of its manual!

if it keeps up at this pace you can dump the cube in about 6 months.

It's looking pretty grim here - locks up when selecting ASIO, and will only
play with MME drivers under Waveout, which is pretty much unusable due
to the latency.

Kind of reminds of an early version of Cakewalk. Probably okay for personal
use.

Hi Dedric,

Weird haven't had any problem setting up the ASIO driver in it.
Did you choice to install the ReRoute option? That is the only thing can
think of that would causing a problem depending on you sound card.

That option was unchecked - no ReaRoute. Oh well. I guess the Reaper has
met his untimely end. ;-)

It's the only app on that machine that has had any problems with the RME
(Fireface) or
Creamware Scope drivers. All others run perfectly.

I am an owner and a fan.
Even if you are using PARIS as your main DAW, you should download this and
check it out!! If nothing else you can use it to render plugs with latency
compensation - inserts or busses - and bring them back into PARIS.Or use
it to bring mixes into and burn CD's or MP3's..or any number of other useful
things. It installs in about 5 seconds and does not mess with your registry.
The programmer is freakin' amazing - it is totally stable, and there are
about 3 updates a week.
On the midi side, it is not up there with Cubase or Logic - at least not
yet - but it is lacking very little in the way of features for audio.
The first thing you should do after installing is change the default color
scheme...try AA or one of the Akoustic ones.....

Unusual, since it is the most glitch-free DAW software I've ever used and
plays nicely with all the hardware I have thrown at it. If you want to give
it a whirl before dismissing it you should pop over to the forum and post
your problem. Either someone will sort it out for you, or Justin will write
you a fix in a half hour!!! (only 1/2 toungue in cheek about that)

Mark the Fireface and Creamware off the list of compatible devices. Works on
an HDSP Digiface
system, but locks up with the others. Interesting little app. Not a threat
to Cubase, Nuendo, Logic, etc though,
imo.

Dedric

By all other accounts it works great with RME Fireface....
I don't have one so don't quote me on this, but I think there is a box in
preferences that needs to be checked for RME stuff....

Hi Dedric,

I used almost everything but Creamware at this point..:) Actually I
wonder if maybe the 2 different asio drivers might be making to freak
out. I don't think I've tried it with multiple brands of ASIO hardware
at once.

I can use Reaper at a 64 buffer with my 3 UAD card full with no weird
CPU loads and still be able to track 24 tracks in at once. Couldn't get
Cubase or any others to do that so far at that low a buffer. Still use
Cubase mainly because of being so familiar and it still having many
feature I like. This has been the most impressive new app I've used
sense the Cubase SX versions started coming out. It is a much more
tweakie and techie so I know some people will never like it. But I'm a
geek so I love it.

Maybe the last Steinberg update put something to break Reaper ..:)

The only thing I'm waiting for is it to have a "sync to" function. I telked
to Justin about it and it's coming but it's low on the priority list.

I don't see why it would have a problem with two ASIO drivers. Even
Samplitude SE
has no problem with them.

It's pretty cool for what it is, but I have to say, it's not really there
yet for midi in general (quantize doesn't work, routing
isn't difficult, but isn't intuitive or easily accessible); editing, VSTi's,
and mixing (FX insert window is fine in concept, but it's cumbersome - a
direct draw from Samplitude, but not nearly as developed). Lots of workflow
basics are missing..

It's lean and mean for a reason - just not much weigh it down - that can be
good and bad, so
it depends on what you want to do with it.

There are some good ideas here and there that other apps could benefit from,
but it comes with
some pretty steep tradeoffs. I like underdogs in general and hope the
developers keep moving forward
with it. I will keep playing around with it from time to time to see how it
develops, but it won't replace Nuendo
etc. for client work. It may work on a remote system as an FX rack at
least.

Regards,
Dedric
