I'll second the recommendation of Markertek...Hey all –
Question about using PCI expansion devices. Is there any
measurable delay or timing issue between using your PARIS
cards internally or loading them into the expansion Device?
Have you experienced either more or less of the “PCI Bus is
too busy” PARIS error messages? Are there any other issues
to be aware of?
Thanks -Oh, one more question - Which PCI expansion device do you reccomend?

Magma 13 slot 32 bit chassis is what I'm using here. I tried using an SBS
for a while. the Magma is much friendlier from an IRQ standpoint.

>Guys, I've been out of the loop for a couple of years, taking
care of my parents in their home. Just getting into my Paris 2
set-up now.
A recording engineer friend, who knows a ton more than I, is
recommending that I switch to an Emu 1820M, claiming that it
will sound as good as Paris, and has a much more integrated
architecture than my V2.11. He is also a computer freak who
is aware that I'm not knowledgeable enough to sort out some of
the workarounds that might be necessary.
Would appreciate thoughts from any of you Paris Vets out
there. I love the SOUND, and really dig the C16, but already
encountering a few little snags that make me consider my buddys'
suggestion. This said, he WAS impressed by the sound of my
setup!
I question whether a rookie like myself should tackle Paris, unsupported,
except perhaps by this wonderful family that you guys are, which is significant,
especially w. archives
available. I do have the B.T. DVD.
Prayer-thoughts for the Gulf Coast as Rita approaches.
KimCould be something simple like a video card, battery or a power supply. I
get it looked at by Apple.
Let us know how things work out.

Mmm, yes that's true. I guess I'm basing this idea on an AKG that a singer
from a previous band had. They sell here for around $350 (probably $200-250
in the states) and he didn't have any trouble with it interference wise.
He did upgrade in the end to a Shure, but he said that was only for the tonal
improvement, not bec
