OK I have a ? First of all I'm not a player just a strummer. I play keyboards.
A number of years ago when I worked at MF I purchased some pickups they were
by a company called BIAX they are a true stereo pickup and they spread the
strings across the stereo field and they sound amazing. Here's my ? I want
to add some power chords to a song. These pickups use a stereo Y cable TRS
out to 2 1/4 inch L and R.Is there a processor that is stereo in and out.
I don't know if that's the right way to ask but I want to maintain the stereo
image and just get simple power guitar sounds. Any suggestions can I use
any of my EDS effects for this. I also have 2 more of these if you happen
to be lookin for one. A bridge position and a middle or neck position. Thanks

Hi Jim,

I do not know of any stereo-in guitar processors. There are
lots of stereo-out ones of course, but I do not know of a
stereo-in one that can do good power guitar sounds. You may
need to use 2 Pods or whaterever, or 2 guitar amps.

Yep, my strat'esque axe into a Radial Tonebone splitter, output to a POD
ProXT and a Lexicon Signature 284 gets me:

2 x Miced speaker cabs from the Lexi
stereo DI'ed outputs with (nice) cab emulation from the Lexi
stereo DI'ed outputs (digital or analog) from the POD
mono clean output from the POD

Seven channels out of one guitar ain't bad

You don't need a fancy rig. Just plug one side into an amp and record
it. Then plug the other side in and play it again exactly the same. Duh.

LOL! No, Bill - dont lead him astray... he needs two Roland
JC-120's to do this right!

Anyway, I'd simply buy two identical stompboxes/Pods/whatever
rocked my boat tone-wise & keep it simple like that.

Heck, as cheap as some modeling amps are now, you could
probbaly buy two small modeling combos of one kind or another
for a total outlay of $400 or less.

Hi Gantt

First let me take care of some business with Bill. With how bad I play it
would take a 1000 takes to get the second as bad as the first :^) Hopefully
he'll see this.

Now to you they are humbucker style they are black active and hot here's

my phone is 541 621 9277 I live in Oregon give me a call and we can talk.

How about a good native VST I've never had much luck with them but I'm no
geek and likely have something wrong. Until recently I ran on a Mac so could
be my fault. I have toneworks but no presets. I'm running an older Pentium
III 877 Mghz.

Well...I actually have figured out a way to mult one of the Radial outs
simultaneously to the Lexi and to an Ampeg portaflex and tag an external cab
to the portaflex so that would make 9 recordable outs from one
guitar..........now, of course, I'm gonna have to simultaneously reamp these
off my studio monitors and run the preamp outs into a power amp driving a
one of 'em through a stompbox and a the other through a Leslie.

Maybe then I'll be happy.

Or, you could just buy a couple dozen a/b/y boxes & pyramid them
together with enough signal splits to power 24 amp heads...

....and then mic each amp in stereo.

The possibilites are endless.

No more wisecracks.

On the cheap, you can do it like this: record the part clean, into a
preamp that has HiZ ins or into a direct box. Then put a modeling plug
on each channel. There are some free ones I think, if you don't own one.
Guitar Suite is cool for pedals and a Twin sound. Check out Voxengo too.

I love free plugs.
