Right now, they're into the Heart section of the show.

The tribute is being done by two artists I don't like at all on their
own - Alice In Chains and Gretchen Wilson. Yes, "Redneck Woman"
Gretchen Wilson.

They're doing "Barracuda".

First off, the band is just plain kicking ass on this song, which
kicks major ass in its own right. For right now, I'll suspend my
dislike of them and give them kudos for this.

And the thing that's blowing my freakin' mind is that Gretchen Wilson,
minus the corny Nashville lyrics and countrified twang, is absolutely
NAILING Ann's part. Nailing. As in just wailing. Where the hell is
that voice coming from? Sadly, she'll go back to the over-safetyfied
world of Nashville, strap on the twang, an' start sangin' crap agin'.
Ah'm tellin' ya, give the girl some rockin' tunes an' a real live
jin-you-wine rock band, an' Ah mebbe jes' may become a fan.

Glad Ah'm Tivo'ing this, so I can watch it again.....

And then Ann comes out and proves that she is still one of the best
vocalists in rock history.....

Damn. Girl still has it. 100% still has it.

Unfortunately, it's "chick flick" night here and some Sandra Bullock kind'
thing has captured the TV. Oh well.......I'm cleaning up the studio tonight
anyway. It's amazing how much crap accummulates on the floor and various
surfaces.

;o)

Man your sooooo right. It's funny, I was watching this, and thought, this
is so good, I need to tell someone, then I got distracted and didn't. I agree
though AIC rocked it, and Gretchen Wilson was spectular. wow.
Then, as you said, Ann came out and kicked it.
The only drawback is, imo, is the current Heart road band is just OK, other
that the Wilson Sisters. They kind of paled in comparason to AIC. (I'm no
AIC fan either, but they sure nailed it).

I thought the same thing wow - still looking for my socks :)

Never would have guessed they could pull that off

Ann Wilson is one of my all time favorites, and this Gretchen chick does her
justice. If I could emulate anyone I wanted to, it would be Ann.
Unfortunately, I've been a contralto since I was 11. Must've been all those
Pall Malls . . .
