Hey guys,
as I am reading the posts about your Cubase/Paris sync I am getting
emotional and jealous ... It used to be so easy with the old versions ...
;-)
Anyways, I need to make the jump, sell my Dakota/Montana deal, and jump onto
this solution.
The questions for you guys:
Is this a confirmed go ??? Has DJ just fiddled around long enough, or are
there other confirmed, CONSISTENT success stories?
If so, which one of the 96/52's are you guys using? The old one:
http://www.rme-audio.com/english/hammer/d9652.htm
or the new one:
http://www.rme-audio.com/english/hdsp/hdsp9652.htm.
If this really works, I just might have to catch a plane and kiss someone
.... don't worry, after this purchase I will be broke anyways ;-)
Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate you,
Ted

You need the HDSP 9652. I don't know about the old Digi 9652, but I've heard
stories of it not working reliably. Get the HDSP, keep the drivers updated
and you're good to go with Paris on Cubase SX.....for sure. I've been doing
this for 2 years. Locks up every time.

Oh, and BTW, the other night I had a piano player over for tracking. I
opened up Cubase SX, installed Ivory in theVSTi rack, record enabled a
couple of midi channels, hit play in the C-16 and recorded the most gorgeous
Bosendorfer you ever heard. Well, since it's midi and it's now forever
locked to Paris, I can change that Bosen to a Steinway D or anything else
I've got here and it's still timeline locked to Paris.
Life is good.

Deej,
You're able to lock SX2 or 3 using Paris with XP too right?
I have two adat cards, 1 in each mec and hope to
do the the same thing with this card. I want the
16 ADAT lines into Paris for softsynths.

Yes. SX 2 or SX 3. Theoretically you could run three computers, one with =
Paris, one with SX 2 and one with SX 3, run a 9 pin sync cable from each =
of your ADAT cards to RME HDSP cards on each of the other computers and =
timeline slave both Cubase rigs to Paris. Don't be gettin' too frisky =
with this on my account, as in spending bunch of cash on it. Like I =
said, it's *theoretical*. I'm only timeline syncing one comp to Paris =
..........at the moment.
