So anyhow, it began a couple of weeks back when it became apparent that the
rego on my car was due to run out this Saturday. Anyone who has delt with
highly paid managers will no doubt be aware that, as a rule, they are not
particularly competant or efficient. Hence I was quite concerned that the
registration wouldn't get paid.
So I emailed the car manager and advised him that my car, and a couple of
others, were running out of rego this Saturday.
It was last Friday when I chased it up. At this point I was told "I'll call
you back". An hour or two later I received a call telling me that my car
has done too many miles. The lease specifies how many miles are expected,
and I've done too many. Normally this would mean we'd have to update the
lease, however in this case we are on some bizaare credit restrictions with
the leaser holders, hence we are banned from modifying a lease. Hence, another
car, which was planned to go back, would have to be allocated to me, and
my old car would have to be returned.
Fine. The other car was a newer model anyhow. So I cleaned out the old car
for return, and swapped cars.
Today I recieved an email. "Could you please let me know the mileage on your
new car so I can note the time of changeover in the records". Fine. I'll
go and have a look.
So I go down to the car. Car? Car? What car? No car here? What the? DUDE
WHERE'S MY CAR?!?!
The car has gone? Has it been stolen? Loaned out?
Anyhow, turns out one of the managers, who happened to have a set of keys,
simply decided not to tell anybody and just take the car off his own back.
The fact that it belongs to somebody now is irrelivant.
So now it's 11 minutes past home time, and I've got nothing better to do
that write angry posts to the newsgroup.
Hopefully my car will arrive soon.
I'm off to have a beer while I wait.

Cheers,
Kim.

>Yeah, what's up with the mower?
Hehe, I was kidding really, but the mower's handle fell off, or mostly off.
I did, of course, buy the cheapest lawnmower they had, so it's kinda my fault
I guess. The handle is bolted on to the body using two locking nuts, both
of which failed to lock properly. I knew they were loose, but couldn't be
bothered tightening them again. "Next time". Then one nut came right off,
and I coudln't find it to save myself (a trip to the hardware store). So
I had to go down to the hardware store and buy a new bolt before I could
finish mowing the lawn...
....not, of course, until after I'd attempted to hobble something together
with a cable tie. I was considering gaffa tape... I mean gaffa tape fixes
everything of course, but I didn't know where some was.
I'm not the biggest fan of mowing the lawn at the best of times, but when
the handle falls off it really whips my llama. I guess it serves my right
though for buying the cheapest mower, and then failing to tighten the nuts
even though I knew they were loose.
I guess I should apologise to my llama.
Cheers,
Kim.
