Here is the page with the hard drive mounts, it's kind of like a shock mount
for a microphone. This will give all of us some ideas. As you can see,
it looks like you could put full size PCI cards in the case with out modification,
but you might lose some hard drive spaces??? I guess you could modify the
case to your needs.

Looks like my next case.

's. (hell... I was young, and this
was around the time when the development of
digital sampling, and synths in general, was progressing in leaps and bounds).
I think it was "Electronic Musician", that reviewed the cumbersome looking
machine, which could tap into your brain, (via electrodes, I think,) and
could produce an approximation of any
sound you could be imagining at the time.
Alas, I loaned my copy of the mag to someone, and never saw
it again.

Actually, my terminology (motorboating)is probably wrong.
The noise I had was almost like filtered pink noise. (not much above, say
500hz), but a constant background rumble of no fixed pitch.

This happened here in Boston last night
http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/12/14/boston.shooting.reut/index. htmlSure did, it fixed it.
Not saying that it will work for you, but worth a shot IMO.
You could also use the opportunity to experiment with different
valves for different sounds (brighter/darker).
I wouldn't go as far as spending a mint on NOS Telefunkens, though, I have
read that even those were subject to quality variation, and thus are just
as prone to sounding like poop
as any other manufacturer.
I bought a few Mullards from Britain (a couple of spares), and the one I
used
didn't change the character appreciably, so the two mics still sound
VERY similar)
What mic are you having problems with?

The mod is well worth the money, although he does remove the transformer,
which some not like. I think the real source of the great sound here is
the capsules themselves. Stephen Paul once told me on the phone (he was
very generous with his time) that the capsules for this series was the only
thing AKG was currently making that was good....I had the same issue a couple of weeks ago, but it was (I think) a PTLE
system. The files aren't sd2, or at least wouldn't translate as such (no
file extensions there either - adding extensions didn't work). No luck.
Fortunately the other songs had bcast wave files or aif. I don't know why
the studio couldn't keep one file format.
I tried importing the files into Audition (CEP) since it can read both byte
ordering formats as well as raw pcm formats - no luck either - just noise.
If you don't have any luck, I would impress upon the studio the fact that no
one masters in ProTools and you need a format the rest of the world can
read.

Dedric

Stephen was fun to chat with wasn't he? I once spent 3 hours on the phone
with him (on his dime) shooting the shit about micing up drum kit in his
living room. He followed that up a few days laterby mailing me an aritcle he
wrote for some magazine called "Zen and the art of drum micing". Hell'uva
nice guy and and incredibly deep well of knowledge.
;o)Bummer. I'll betcha when all is said and done, it turns out to be drug

>Hi
I'm trying to get inspired to work the ole Paris again and was wondering if
any of you would be willing to share your music with the group. It seems
like a lot of you have really taken the Paris to the highest sonic levels
and I would like to hear what you all are getting.
If you wanted to take a small portion of some work and keep it as a wav file
that would be really great. I'm hoping that hearing some good tones will
inspire me to get back into it.
Much appreciated.
Barry
p.s. music that has vocals would be preferred. thanks. The talented Jason Miles CD will surely fire you up.
