There is a plugin FREE one from Voxengo called recorder, www.voxengo.com.
This can record (output) sound as a vst plugin to mme devices.
So if you install virtual cable (do you remember this ?) you can output
recorder track to virtual cable 1 and let cubase record cable in 1.
The only thing (just tried it) that I get echo on recorded track.
So somewhere there will be a solution on virtual cable preferences to
overcome.
