Hey Folks --

My prehistoric 98 box has finally gone the way of all flesh. Moving to a newer XP PC -- and running up against a weird glitch... My copy of the fx subsystem consistently refuses to open, with an error message about "file corrupted." I have recently purchased Mike Audet's updated XP drivers (thanks Mike, for being so freaking baddass all this time), and I think I'm not tooooo far off from getting this system running -- but, this one error has me stumped...

Anybody have a working copy of this little item laying around?

Gracias...

And, by the way -- if rumors of working 64 bit drivers for Win 7 prove true, I will gladly jump in with both feets...

-- thanks -- chas.

Heya Chas - download the 3.0 installer here and the FX subsystem installer here - between the two all that stuff should get replaced fresh. Let us know if you need any help!

A new PARIS setup can be a right PITA, but if it's done right it only hurts once Very Happy

Very Happy

This might help too (I tidied the XP install docs a bit and put all the necessary file links together...).

Well, first thanks again for the assistance -- lots of good things happened this morning, and I successfully launched with one card under XP... This is 3.0 with the new fx subsystem and with Mike A's new drivers. Lovely. Then -- can't get card number two working... I have shuffled slots repeatedly -- either get a "no interface connected" or an unhandled exception. Tried many different combinations, with similar grief. It's an Abit NF7 mobo from around 2004, five slots; some kind of Athlon at around 2.6 ghz. I had three cards running in this box not long after it was built... Which is to say -- I know it works... Any ideas?

-- thanks -- chas.

The link to the PARIS FX SUBSYSTEM INSTALLER does not work anymore. I get this error message: Http/1.1 Service Unavailable.

Here's the actual web address for the PARIS FX SUBSYSTEM INSTALLER that no longer seems to be available:
http://homepage.mac.com/osxlover/ParisFAQs/parisxpeffects.ex e

Does anybody have a good link to get the install software for the PARIS FX SUBSYSTEM INSTALLER?

Thanks!

I am sure Kerry will fix you up with the fx subsystem.

Here are the file dates and order I installed mine. I combined some of the new (Mike Audit) components with the older installer which made the install a bit easier.

I have a 2 card system working win 7 32 bit.

Here is the order and file version/dates that worked for me.

(1) Pace Driver 1.2.0.5555

(2) (combined installer)

Paris Studio Control Lib 7/30/2002
Paris Studio Control.dll 4/4/2010
pthru.drv 7/30/2002
pthru.inf 7/30/2002
Read me.txt 8/5/2002
Scherzo.inf 12/7/2008
Scherzo.sys 3/14/2010 ver 4.1.0.0
Setup.exe 7/30/2002

(3) Paris3.0.exe

(4) Parisxpeffects.exe 9/24/2004

(5) Adat.dll 12/7/2008 Replacing previously installed in sys32 folder

(6) CPU affinity control panel

Good Luck
