I'd like to say I really appreciate Mike Audit's programming work.
I purchased all the EDS plugins and the XP driver even though I am still running a 3 card system on win98 se.
I use PARIS everyday and plan to as long as the EDS cards etc keep working.
I will definitely buy the Win7 64 bit driver and look into building a new PC this year.

Thanks again to everybody for keeping PARIS alive.

Lance

Thanks for your kind words and support, Lance!

It really was a much more challenging project than I originally thought it would be. There really aren't a lot of people working on drivers, and there are even fewer who are writing new drivers for 15 year old hardware. So, google wasn't as helpful as it is with other tech projects.

When I first started looking into it, it looked impossible. Then I stumbled onto a kernel function that was added to make AGP cards work better. Without that one function, we would have been sunk.

Add to that the time constraints that come with starting a family, and it's been a struggle.

But, it's done! I did some optimization yesterday, and I'm doing some code clean up. But, so far, everything works.

I have to buy a stupid security certificate because of Microsoft's driver signing, but I'll do that. (Steve Ballmer, you suck!)

I'm going to write a proper installer this time, and I'm talking with ID about including PARIS 3.0 files in the installer because the original PARIS 3.0 installer is 16 bit and doesn't run under Windows 7 64.

Edmund has been really supportive of this project. Whenever I was stuck and asked him a question, he took the time to give me a thoughtful answer. He's been really great. I hope I actually get to meet him someday.

I, too, am going to keep using PARIS until all my cards are dead and I can't get them fixed or replaced. Even then, I hear there are programmable dsp chips these days...

Smile

I agree 100% !!
I dont even will work , still, with windows 7, BUT I want the ASIO driver fully working for XP so I will pay for the driver no matter what !!
Mike needs all the support from everyone involved here and believe me PARIS gear will be sought after this !!!
Paris stuff will get more expensive and very hard to find !
New users will jump in !
Glorious days !
