If anyone ever dug up the crawl space they would find at lest 30 computers
that were abused, killed and buried down there.

Actually, I doubt if my poor PCI bus could handle another thing..........but
I do have another slot on the mobo that can be used for something
dammit!!!!.........maybe a decent FW card so I could hang something else on
this DAW. More digital I/O that could be interfaced with external processors
during mixdown would be very useful.

The A8V-DLX became so stable after I got rid of the Matrox P750 and started
using the GEForce 5500 that I never did do the new build using the NForce3
mobo. The FW port shares with the graphics card on the A8V mobo so I'm
thinking that a PCI FW card might be the ticket to squeezing the last
possible bit of utility out of this mobo while keeping whatever device off
the IRQ that is preempted by the AGP......... if the extra PCI bandwidth
used by the FW device doesn't cause the system to implode. Right now, in
Cubase I'm able to stream 40 tracks to Paris for summing while using an
additional 16 ADAT I/O configured as stereo I/O interfaced with 8 x Paris
aux busses and the 3 pair of S/Pdif I/O of the RME cards are interfaced with
3 x different outboard processors and all of this is happening while using
almost 90% of the resources of 4 x UAD-1 cards. I really don't know if the
PCI bus could handle much more.

The ASIO4all website isn't reporting such great luck with the Fireface so
I'm wondering if the HDSP 9652 and Multiface won't talk to this thing
properly either. Adding a LynxTwo interface with multiple AES I/O would be
very sweet for my situation.

HI DJ,
With ASIO4All you will get the highest common latency, i.e., if one of
the cards can only go down to 3 or 6 ms then that latency will be the
lowest you can go no matter how low some other card may go.
The Lynx will be a pretty expensive experiment.

Still sound Like you need a MADI card setup but just willing to admit it..:)

I don't track to SX so latency is not really a problem when I'm mixing. SX
covers PDC so unless this somehow messes up the plugin latency compensation,
I would be good to go.
