I think it sorta' does in a sucky kinda' way on 98SE........maybe........I
tried it on ME and, yeah it worked......and yeah....it worked in a sucky
kinda' way, as in totally inconsistent throughput.

You need to spend more money Rick

Hey Rick! I have a Firewire USB combo PCI card that has down loadable 95/98/2000
drivers. As I recall, it worked fine with 98. I had some problems with
XP. I think it was an IRQ issue. It worked with XP, but when I added more
PCI cards I had problems, so I pulled it.

If your interested, I could send it to you, if it works for you send me $20.00,
if not just send it back. It has 3 FW connecters one internal two external
and two external USB connecters.

thanks james, i'll give it some thought as i have removable drive
bays and can swap them between the SE and XP rigs. the XP one does
have firewire card that i can connect a fw drive (fat32 format) and
transfer the files to from the swap drive to the mac. god, i feel
related to deej in some weird way.

if you'd leave your penny alone, it wouldn't bleed. Now check your palms for
hair growth.
