Scott was one of the most unbelievable musicians I've ever
seen/heard/experienced.

Sad day.

Sounds like he touched a lot of lives sharing great music. That's a major
loss.

I wish I had the 45 of It's For You. It was written by Lennon and
McCartney, as was the flip side which was a song called Man In the
Lighthouse, also by Lennon and McCartney. Scott's manager at the time had
pretty deep pockets (for a 15 year old kid) and purchased the rights to
these songs. I still remember how this recording blew me away. It was every
bit as good as anything getting radio airplay in 1964.

I wish I could be in Ft. Worth right now. All my old musician buddies are
there today at the funeral and they've been sending me e-mails. I send one
of them an MP3 of one of Macle's tunes. They loved it. That's the genre we
were all into back then and still love. It's great to see that there are
folks who are still influenced by these beautiful melodic
Lennon/MaCartney/George Martin'esque songwriting/ production ideas, are
keeping them alive and taking them to a new level.

DJ, I am a big L&M fan (who isn't?) but have never heard of these songs.
Is there any way to purchase a copy, even if only an MP3?

Thanks

DJ-

sorry to hear about this. It's frightening when we check obits for folks
our age or younger, too...!

Speaking of Unknown Beatles songs (or little known)

This is from Wikipedia:
________________________________
* Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas — I'll Be On My Way, Bad To Me/I Call
Your Name, I'll Keep You Satisfied (1963); From A Window (1964);
* Tommy Quickly — Tip Of My Tongue (1963)
* The Fourmost — Hello Little Girl, I'm In Love (1963)
* Cilla Black — Love Of The Loved (1963); It's For You (1964); Step Inside
Love (1968)
* Rolling Stones — I Wanna Be Your Man (1963)
* The Strangers with Mike Shannon — One And One Is Two (1964)
* Peter & Gordon — Nobody I Know, A World Without Love, I Don't Want
To See You Again (1964)
* The Applejacks — Like Dreamers Do (1964)
* P.J. Proby — That Means A Lot (1965)
* Mary Hopkin — Goodbye (1969)

In addition, McCartney wrote songs under his own name for other artists prior
to the Beatles' split; notably Badfinger's 1969 hit Come and Get It. He also
penned the song Woman (1966) for Peter & Gordon under the pseudonym Bernard
Webb, to see if the song would gain success without his reputation. It did.

I remember several of these. Good tunes.

That's the song all right.......now picture the Beatles singing it with
George Martin producing. That's pretty much what you would have from Scott's
band.

DJ.......Very sorry to hear of your loss. He seemed amazing!

I too, lost a bandmate, and dear friend, and the audiio industry lost out
on on a High Fidelity advocate!

Dean Roumanis worked at Krell manufactuing, running the whole operations
of the company. He was the COO and part owner. Krell, of course, makes
high end high fidelity components.

He also had a duo wherre he played bass with a guitar player and they did
some innovative, creative music.

He also played piano and keys with me. You can actually see and hear him
playing at my concert, since I put up a clip of one of the pieces on my site.

Here is an obituary for him at Sterophile magazine:

http://www.stereophile.com/news/080706roumanis/

and here is the link to the video and his brief music bio with some pictures.
He was ONLY 52 and full of life!!! Very sad indeed!

The bit from the ruttles where Jagger riffs on the ruttles always trying to
sell them a song is priceless.

Lou,

I'm very sorry to hear this. The obituary was very interesting and humorous
at the end. :)

Did he design that amazing power amp they are marketing now that adjusts
voltage to signal level (zero distortion)?

I honestly don't know. It was more likely the owner who engenered it though.
Dean had a basic knowledge of electronics, but he was not a full fleged
engeeneer. He used to have stuff fixed for me once in awhile and he would
say he would take it to one of the guys in the factory that knew what they
were doing. But he probably had some input on it though.

Years ago, he gave me an Aragorn power amp, which I still use with my Thiel
CS-2 speakers for my home hi-fi system. When I called Aragorn to ask about
upgrading it, they said it was one of the first amps they made and that it
didn't even have a serial number or model number yet. They remembered it
and Dean though. It is so smooth sounding.

Dean was also a neighbor of mine for some years before they moved about 15minutes
away. Great guy. I think about him often and am still shocked!

Sorry. I forgot to post here about putting up the video. I actually have
a whole DVD of the entire concert, but never put it up for sale or otherwise
on my site. I get lazy!! LOL I got some great musicians to participate,
and it came off really nice.

I was under the impression that people needed Quicktime 7 to view it but
I am not sure about that. Maybe it is not needed.

Indeed. Sounded like a very cool cat. The good thing is after we're
gone, the music keeps on going....

Sorry for your loss as well.

Krell. Ahhhhh. I have always lusted after a stack of Krell
Monoblocks driving a pair of Apogees - not the little ones, but the
big-ass ones as tall as I am. Heard that combo once in a audiophile
store and had to go home and change my shorts. It was that sweet.
Bass that just reached out and kicked you in the chest. But clean.
