I could use one of these for my RME cards in a PCI-X slot.

hang them off the PCI slot for my 4 x UAD-1 cards and have an extra slot
left on the same bus for something else like a POCO maybe.......at least I
think I can as long as the host card has compatible voltage keying.

It would certainly be worth a try. 3 of these 2U riser cards would be under
$200.00.

Is this what it looks like ??
A magma without a magma ?
Does this riser means extender ?
If I conclude correctly you just put a pci riser on a pci slot (32bit still
here !) and get yourself two pci slots that share the ame IRQ ?
Means that motherboard identifies two pci cards as if this pci slot had a
brother (or sister) ?
Wow if so that is something !!!
Dear DJ what is needed for an extra 2-3 pci slots on a P2B Asus motherboard
that already has 5 pci slots ?
Only two riser 32bit cards ?

From what I read it cannot probably work as wished...
These are to just raise the height of the pci slot.

The issue here will be whether a PCI>PCI bridge is necessary. Theoretically,
if the devices are good with sharing the same IRQ, the bridge shouldn't be
an issue. I will be calling them in a few minutes. They open at 8:30 PDT. If
it looks like this will work, I will be ordering three of these (1 x for my
HDSP cards and 2 x for my UAD-1 cards. I wish the ribbon cables were a bit
longer. 11cm looks like the longest available.

Heheh!!! This ain't gonna work. These devices are designed to mirror mobo
slots. They have extra blades that must be inserted into the mobo in order
to work. Of course, I think it would be possible to daisy chain a bunch of
them together and loop their extra blades of each riser card back into the
the slots on the next riser card, thus directing all PCI bus traffic from
one card to the next instead of to the extra mobo slots. I decided to have
some fun and got the tech support people at this company all freaked out
when I told them that I was going to try this and asked what their return
policy was. Calls were made from lower tier to upper tier techies within
the heirarchy. They were genuinely alarmed. I don't think they will forget
me for a while.

I love the smell of burning PCB in the morning.

Heh!...I still think there might be a way to make this work, but it might
cost just about as much as it would cost to buy the damn 64 bit GE Fanuc
expansion chassis I've been looking at.

I'm going to look into building a 64 bit expansion chassis using a
backplane, PSU and host cards. I've got an old Magma case here with a dead
backp-lane. It's ATX, but the back of it would have to be modified
................I'm thinking chain saw and dynamite.

Here's a link to a 32 bit DIY but it's ridiculously expensive considering
the fact that we can buy 13 slot Magma's for less these days.

I called them and told them what I wanted. They told me that I could e-mail
the specs of the box that I needed and they could have one built. This would

Surely there's a 64 bit option that can be sourced somewhere.
