I tore down my studio for maintenance last Thursday night because I didn't
have anything scheduled until Tuesday (tomorrow) and it was just for some
guitar/vocal scratch tracks. I figured I could cobble something together if
I got hung up and get this done. Well, I worked my butt off all day Friday
and all weekend cleaning 96 patchbay connections and then repatching all of
my analog and digital I/O........and I mean *all* of it....166 analog I/O
and I can't even grok how many digital connects. I figured I'd have a few
days to check all of them (make sure I patched them all in properly and
that they were all working). Well, today, the clients keyboardist calls to
chat about midiing up his controller........WTF, I think to myself....that's
no biggie.....and then he just happens to mention the full drum kit, bass 2
guitarists and 3 singers that will also just *happen* to be showing up.

This was at 4PM. Well, I've now 16 hot mics set up and as I've continued to
check the connectivity, I've only found one bad connection......a faulty
lightpipe cable. Everything else appears to be working perfectly. What are
the odds?......especially since I'm using those modular 1/4" balanced
patchbays.

If this client wasn't such a good friend, I would have told her to pound
sand.

;o)

.......and the IF2 port on the MEC that I got from you is also working. I did
find that the L & R outputs of my Mytek converter were switched a bit later,
but so far, other than that, haven't found anything else.
