Hi to all,
Have been some time posting here...
Anyway I was tempted by your posts and made my way thru Teleport.
Teleport 1.03 with chainer working !
Teleport 1.04 not working (maybe my setup)
I use Paris machine as master and other pc as slave.
Just open theserver icon on slave and then run teleport on master .
It looks on the vst folder you have vst installed in your slave and installs
wherever you say to.
I have them installed on master at program files/Steinberg/vst plugins/fx
teleport
Paris cannot see this subfolder .
Chainer can.
I tried with one instance of Solid stae logic free compressorand it works.
There is a minimum 4096 delay there but anyway it works.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Dimitrios

I would like to add here that using one Teleport plugin gives you a4080 sample
latency at 44.1khz, using two 8160 samples etc, so I see not much usefulness
with realtime mixing with teleport.
Might be wrong though and it would be a godsaver for something else...

ALSO the Spinaudio wrapper works too !!!

Dimitrios

What nics and switch are you using? That is high latency.

Hi,
Latencies with network has been always that long...
I use Planet ENW-9606 1GB connected without switch but directly with a cable
, just two computers.
I always remember when was using FX-teleport last year had that latency to
work.
Actually Paris to work now needs 6112 samples not to loose any sample ...
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Dimitrios

Here is my suggestion again...
If you wanna expand your Parissystem with other great plugins and routings
then use Creamware Pulsar cards.
I have three of them on my second computer.
I connect Paris (3 mecs) with the three pulsars via adat light pipe.
Latencies are:
15 samples for adat in out and 4 samples for Pulsar plugin.
If you use (as I do ) Transient designer gives you another 39 samples so
you will have 39+19=58 samples maximum !!
Most though projects will have no more than 19 samples.
What I am doing is I put a pulsar latency plug to give exact latency for
1ms Paris nudge !
So whatever pulsar plugin I wanna use I have templates for exactly 1ms Paris
audiotrack nudge ...
Thats totally acceptable, right ?
Now the interesting part.
Pulsar has not only the best sounding synthesizers out there (no vst can
come close) but also great plugz like Vinco (1176 emu) Optimaster fantastic
optimizer, Graphgic eq of outstanding quality, PSYQ exactly like a BBE exciter,
NEW professional (and expensive) Mastering pack, and great NEW guitar amp
emulators !!
Second hand pulsars are great to buy cause they are now chaep.
I bought them when they were around 1000 $ each !
Now you can finf for 350$-400$ which is a bargain believe me.
The sound is phenomenal, not Tape warmth like Paris but extremely transparent
digital undistorted sound a fine compliment for Paris.
If someone will jump on the Pulsar train I will guide him as much as I can...
Cheers,
Dimitrios

Dimitrios,

I might be interested in selling off my RME cards in favor of the Pulsar's
soon. I've got a mix I need to finish before I do this. Some questions:

I'm assuming that the Pulsar can operate in the Cubase SX 3x environment.

Does the Pulsar have an ADAT sync input so that it can lock to incoming ADAT
sync?

How many Pulsars would I need to achieve 48 x ADAT I/O and 8 x analog I/O?

Can the pulsar achieve 96kHz if needed?

Any conflicts/issues with the Pulsar and other VSTi's in Cubase SX or with
UAD-1 cards?

Thanks,

Deej

DEar DJ,
First bof all Puylsar is no latency card (well 4 samples) like Paris.
Has extremely unbelievable routing possibilities via a super enhanced Patchbay
as Paris would have groen into with version 7.2 if ever...

YTes there is an optional addon card for pulsar that gives wordclock in out
and adat sync !

For 48 channels digital optical in out you need.
One pulsar can have either (classic) 16 digital ins and outs two analog ins
and outs (24/96) and two midi ins and outs plus one spdif coaxial in out
OR (ADAT) 24 channels adat in out plus spdif plus midi
The "adat" is not easy to find so you need three "classic pulsars for total
48 adat ins and outs
6 analog 24/96 ins and outs plus 6 midi ins and outs ( yes 6 inputs and
6 outputs !)
3 spdifs.
Yes Pulsar is capable of 24/96.
One sync addon card is enouph., which has the needed Adat sync.
Also the Pulsar mixer is capable of surround mixing !, with oxford console
quality.
Rumours say that it is the same algorithms!
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Dimitrios

There was some mention on the FXT forum about chainer, but there was another
wrapper, can't recall the name right now, that worked better (dont know
about PARIS). Will have to search it out.

Have you any experience with EnergyXT ? There is some talk at the FXT forum
about this working better with FXT than Chainer.

Dear Edna,
Chainer is working fine...
I did not claim that I had any problems with Chainer using FX-teleport.
EnergyXT might be working too.
The latency Paris buffers like to see are over 4096 when working with plugins
like FX-teleport Wormhole etc.

You can work with lower latencies if you work with EDSTransfer 8,16 but I
have concluded that it will eventually burn your cards...
Regards,
Dimitrios
