Last week I was in Guitar Center (yeah, I know...) and noticed they had NI's
Komplete 4 upgrade for $199, which is quite a good deal as it's $299 online
everywhere else. It's been on my list for a while, so I decided to go back
this morning and pick it up in case it sells out during their Memorial day
"sale".

I didn't see it on the shelf, and of course the salesman has no idea what
the heck I'm talking about. So we go to a software sale table to look for
it - he starts picking up boxes of Reason Refills (I refrain from chuckling
out loud, though it was reeaaaallly hard to do :-). I finally find the K4
upgrade box and the red and yellow "sale" tag says $249. I lift up the tag,
and underneath is the big red and white $199 tag. I laugh and show the
salesman, saying "I guess $249 is a better deal than $199" - he laughs
nervously and says they can do $199 on it.

Sale you say? Sure.... I guess ineptness isn't illegal, otherwise the
lawsuit against GC would be a slamdunk case. ;-))

While GC does deserve the lawsuit, in way I would miss the comedic relief if
they were to go bye bye as a result.

You should've seen the look on the dude's face when Deej and I were in there
having him look up the digital sampling cowbell.

I wish I had been there. :-)) Moments like that are what make shopping in
big chain retailers worthwhile.

We bought the "more cowbell" kit at GC for one of the guys in our improv
comedy troupe who had made one too many cowbell jokes. Gave it to him
right before we went on stage.

We opened by asking for a request for a song that he should play. By
golly, he played right along even though he didn't really know how to
play cowbell (or any other instrument) and he didn't know the requested
song. Which made it that much funnier as he tried to play the song
anyway, entirely on cowbell. Great start to an improv set. :^)

Cheers,
-Jamie
