Is anyone making high quality sound cards with stereo balanced outs for USB
or Firewire? ~ $200 range on the street ?

Hi John,
From my experience installing and troubleshooting allot of sound cards
I'd recommend the following for sound quality and reliability.

Fire wire-
Presonus Firepod
Focusrite Saffire LE

USB -
Mackie Spike

There are a few others that would well but these are the ones that I
liked most for sound quality.


If you don't absolutely need it to be fire wire or USB then I'd go for
the EMU PCI cards. Lots of value with their sound cards.
