Hi Mike and all. It's been a while since I've been on the forum..... been wating for the news.parisnewsgroup.com to come back online, but alas.
So what's been going on with the ASIO Development? I've been looking on this forum and haven't seen anything regarding it.

I guess the short answer to your question is that nothing's happened to 'General', it's still exactly where it's always been - part of the PARIS NG. Unfortunately Kim's shut the NG down to go "walkabout" in Europe now and we don't know if it will ever be back, or in what timeframe. The NG's departure caught me by surprise, but I think maybe Kim caught himself by surprise with that decision as well.
Kim and I collaborated on syncing these forums (which are aimed at use and development) with the more PARIS-specific parts of the NG, but the forums were never dreamed of as a successor or replacement to the NG. That topic was never even raised between us; it was simply assumed from the start by both of us that things at the NG wouldn't change, that it would continue and that the content of the PARIS NG and its sub-forums, or the handing off to a successor if the day ever came (which wasn't even a blip on our radar screen at the time), would remain entirely Kim's business.

FYI - throughput latency may vary from system to system, so for a direct comparison to other ASIO drivers: Mikes new ASIO drivers, at least as they are today, are currently very happy at 256 samples latency on my not-particularly-cutting edge PC.

As far as interfacing with Reaper the easiest I have found as far as using PARIS as a front end is in conjunction with a RME HDSP9652. I just keep PARIS open and I have 16 inputs directly routed on the MEC module in the patch pay from "in" right back to the "out" using the ADAT cards and then that feeds the 9652. The RME's totalmix really does work well here as the inputs now can be recorded directly into Reaper from the PARIS MEC. Also you can use the C16 at least for transport control if you have Reaper synced to it. Just keep PARIS in live mode so it just scrolls along the time line...nothing recording or playing as it is just passing the audio into Reaper and using the C16 for the transport...just have to arm the tracks in Reaper first. I assume Kerry has done this as well as I know a few months ago he said he was working on a project and wanted to use PARIS this way as well.
