Wow, this is crazy. I've received 60 bounces so far from spam email I
didn't send. Return address in all of them is my domain with random
characters ahead of it.

This ever happen to you? Any suggestions?

I've set up a mail filter to shunt the bounces off to a mailbox so it
doesn't clog up my inbox. I've send an email to tech support at my ISP,
although I don't know if they're around after hours.

Using TBird on OSX for email, if that matters.

Cheers,
-Jamie

Yes. I used to be doug@arizona.edu and one morning I came in to find 3600
bounced messages from undeliverable addresses at AOL. It was spam for a
porn site, so I also got a half dozen or so emails yelling at me about how
immoral porn is. Luckily, I got a copy of the spam message itself and
contacted the web provider where the site was hosted. They had it shut down
within an hour! Over that next year I think I had another five or six sites
shut down under similar circumstances... :-)

Have you checked the spam content to see what it's selling and where? Is
there an abuse contact at the provider? Depending upon how much time you
want to spend on this, I'd suggest looking at http://spam.abuse.net where
you can find a lot of info about what can be done and how to do it...

Has happened to me repeatedly, and there's not much you can do about it. You'll
also get blacklisted on some spam lists, which is a huge PITA. Once you've
been tagged the spammer will move on to a new address.

Thanks Doug and Thad. I'm up to around 400 bounces but it seems to be
slowing down...
