Hi all,
Been out humping a couple of new systems into place, so I
haven't been around much.
Got a new 8-core Mac Pro shipping. The pore ole Mini here
has had about enough of me and how hard I work it...
Anyway, I have discovered that the way to buy Apple
computers is to get your own RAM. (I use Crucial)
and your own monitor. (not the terrific but silly-expensive
Apple ones). I got 6G of RAM for half the price of 4G from
Apple. Crazy... and a 24" Sceptre DVI monitor for 299.
Macs are almost affordable if you pay attention to the
details...
The 8-core with all that RAM and a couple of good drives
will serve me well if I have to leave PARIS, but I will resist
as long as I can.
HEY! Where's our update!
I know... coming soon...
Also, for buying the Mac I got a free iPod Touch for my
wife. Pretty impressive I must say with built in WiFi.
Kind of an iPhone w/o the phone. It also plays my full
uncompressed wav files just like my Classic and sounds
fab. Very cool little box.
