WOW!!!......nice box. There's one on EBay right now if anyone is needing a
serious outboard reverb. I'm very impressed. I can see why so many studios
have these in their racks.

;o)

......oh yeah.......and the GC8 remote does whine a little bit, but it's
tolerable.

And if you get two, you can wire the whines out of phase so
that they cancel each other out... don't forget that part.

:)

DJ, what memory cards do you have for your 880?

I have the stock rev2.0 card and Lee Quintinna's custom patches (including
EMT140, 480L, QRS, and RMX emulations). I recommned setting it up for 4 outputs
blended to taste...sounds a little fatter than just 2 outputs. I'm planning
on making a little passive summer for mine.

My only complaint is that the GC8 is a little slow when changing parameters/pages.
It's amazing to hear how bright the reverbs can get without developing the
metallic sound that other verbs get.

Enjoy it....and, if you come up with some custom patches, or other operating
tricks, please share!!!

Cheers,

Kris

Kris,

I've got the Lee Quintana patches, the Roger Nichols 480L patches and the
Massenberg patches. So far I have only been using the factory patches and
I'm pretty impressed by these.

I tried out the Roger Nichols patches last night.....at least I think they
are the Roger Nichols patches. I'm going to have to spend some time with
this unit comparing the different stuff I've got here and learning how to
use it. One thing is for sure.....this thing sounds really good. there's
something about it that sounds *like a record*. Another one of the magic
boxes that, for the most part, you can send a signal into and it comes out
the other end sounding better than it did before.

There's a really good tip in here, somewhere.
