Well would you consider a trade off if you would use that adat ports for bringing
digitally back to stereo main insert an external digital effect ?
Adat is 20 bits ,spdif out is already used for DA and 24bits are critical
for mixing details with outboard DA like Lavry or Mytek.
Recording is always 16bit.
I know Paris works at 24bit inside so would this round the stereo mix ?
Anyone tested this before ?
Regards,
Dimitrios

Hey Dimitrios,
I know this doesn't answer your question directly, and my ears are probably
one step up from a cow's, BUT, I've been using the 20 bit returns on the MEC
for my outboard reverb, and it sounds just fine to me. I don't have an 8out
card in my MEC, so I can't even test 20 vs 24 FX routing. I would guess the
difference would be pretty small unless your mixing stuff with alot of soft
passages.
Rock on,
MR
