I've been asked to set a system up for someone. Just wondering if it's going
to be plain sailing or whether I'll need expert advice.

Is it simple as:

1)Set up OS with typical Music OS tweaks
2)Plug everything in
3)Load ASIO driver and Protools software
4)Good to go...?

Just wondering if this is something that I'm able to accept as a paying job
when I've never done it...

Cheers,
Kim.

PS. Could use every cent of course having had to fork out unexpecdedly for
a car...

HI Kim,
If it is a PC then you might have issues if the Pro Tools version is pre
6.9. IF you have a dual core or P4 with hyper threading it can give you
some trouble. If it is a newer version then you should be fine.

A recent 7.0 install on my G5 was very smooth including MPT.

7.1.1 on my MacBook Pro (Intel) was a little harder because hunting down
all the component installs for Mac-Intel is poorly organized on the Digi
site.

Ilok always takes an extra hour or so.

I needed multitrack Beat Detective for a project I’m working on.
