Hey, guys thought you might like to listen to some stuff I've been uploading
to TAXI lately for Film, TV, Video, etc... categories. Had a few pieces
forwarded, been using GigaStudio, the Synthophone, some older synth modules
and Paris for much of this. Some of this is older, one track that Aaron
ported over from Session8 several years back, "Swept". I finally got around
to mixing it, with some steel drums that I banged out. (Thanks Aaron!) I'm
even part of the vocal chorus on it. There's a variety of material here,
"You Just Left", from my 1st album. "Pieces of a Journey" is a hybrid thing,
orchestral, Asian, African, etc... "Mount Olympus" is a piece I submitted
for the 2008 Olympics, Jason Miles' Psychic Horns used on it. "Soundtrack
Dreams" is another hybrid Film, TV piece. "Makin' Salsa" is an old Latin big
band thing I wrote a long time ago, dragged it out and soloed on it with the
synthophone. D&B1 and D&B2 are some Drum and Bass stuff that I was messing
around with. Any feedback appreciated.

I don't normally have problems with Flash, but nothing at the TAXI link will
play for me - is it only members that can hear it, or a configuration issue
at my end, or is there something wrong with the files? I get nada for sound
while the audio files are playing.

But I went to your website from the link and really enjoyed the music there.
Cool version of Giant Steps, you sound great! Othello's on fire on the steel
drums (wow, playing Giant Steps on pans - that must have looked like an
octopus on speed). Nice work!

Kerry, not sure what's wrong with the TAXI link. Anyone else having this
same problem? You should be able to listen to them according to the
parameters which I set on the site. The files play for me fine, but I am a
member. Thanks for the complements. I've forgotten which files are on my
website. If it's the live recording at the Van Dyck, the audio is kind of
crappy. I've got to put up some audio from the original cd, much better
recordings and Othello is playing even more like the octopus on speed "-)

Hey,

De hip bone Schenectady de thigh bone, de thigh bone . . .

Sorry, couldn't help it. Anyway, very nice saxing, very cool
composition. I love the odd meters, especially the 9 groove in D&B1. Minor
criticisms . . . some of the samples sound a little synthy for my tastes,
and overall the mixes seem pretty dry, could use some "space." But that's
just technical stuff and a matter of taste. Musically, it's great. :)

Hi nurse Sarah, just like a nurse. Wish I thought of that one, you're pretty
clever. About the reverb, I tend to hear less effects for the most part
because too much tends to detract from the recording, (muddles things up),
but I understand what you're saying and appreciate the constructive
criticism. Right, some of those synths are a bit dusty "-) I need to go to
recording and engineering school.
