ASUS M2N-E is working great with PARIS over here, with AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core processor 4200+. Both PCI and PCIe slots.

It's certainly not the only choice; Mike's drivers in particular have made the choice of motherboard and processor much less an issue of "getting it exactly right".
I did a lot of research to find a solid combo of "PARIS-approved hardware" last year and built a solid PC to run it on. But as luck would have it, the PCI slots on that mobo died during the physical move into my studio space. By that point Mike's new drivers were out and running great. There was no real data on what hardware worked and what didn't, but we were optimistic that they'd made PARIS generally far more tolerant of different hardware, so I basically chose that replacement motherboard/processor combo at random out of what was available on my local Craigslist that night. And it rocks - it's far more solid and stable than my Macs; I just leave it on constantly as the main "mixer" for the studio. So don't waste too much time dialling in the perfect rig for a twitchy hardware-intolerant PARIS - buy something you'd run any other DAW on, chuck the EDS cards in and give it a shot.

I'm not sure how new this set up is but my new rig is built around the ASUS P5B MB and P965 chip set uses an Intel E9400 processor.
I have 2 EDS cards and 2 UAD-1e cards installed on the MB and so far it has worked flawlessly

Do we have any suspicions that it might not work with solid-state drives at this point, or is it just a question of "nobody's tried it yet"?
[added - I just checked out pre-Christmas prices on some of those. Still pretty expensive compared to regular drives but they do seem to be coming down...]
