SPDIF limitations? [message #72087]

Hello everyone.
Time for a slightly "amateuristic" question again:)

I have some Waves 5.0 Mastering plugins and my plan
was to use them in Pro Tools LE/Mbox.
When I started working on a stereofile a thought "what's wrong with my mix?"
Obviously everything sounds like S**T through M-box compared to the Paris
outs.

Would it be wise to send a signal out through the Mbox SPDIF and into the
Paris SPDIF to take full advantage of the Paris DA's while monitoring the
mastering session?

Or - does the SPDIF have some limititations that I'm not aware of?

It's not the Paris D/A's that are making the difference I can assure you.
It's the Paris summing architecture. Even with two tracks it makes a
difference. You can improve the sound of Paris further by using a standalone
D/A converter like the Benchmark DAC-1 or even by using an external word
clock.
