Heard it, not impressed at all. Alice Cooper does better work in 3 months.
17 years and 13 million dollars....hilarious. Zeppelin was recorded in
2 weeks and mixed in 2 days....just a bit of perspective

I actually really, really like it. It wasn't what I expected at all. But,
the more I listen to it, the more it grows on me. I'm not defending 17 years
and 13 million, but I'm glad it finally came out.
It sounds like a solo album. You can tell it's all one writer. But, I've
missed production on rock albums. It just seems like everything I've heard
lately has been done fast and cheap with nothing much interesting about it.
This album has interesting layers and sounds. The best part is that I don't
think the layering and the production have reduced the emotion conveyed,
as can happen.
In my car, the vocals sound like they were mixed too low and the snare sounds
a bit too loud, but they both sound fine on my beloved NS10s.
Hey, maybe it will spark a trend of spending more money on recording. :)
All the best,
Mike

Cool, I'm going to go buy it then. I like big production, and layers and
emotion and attitude.
What I can't stand is contrived slop that's geared to radio, with lyrics
that seem like they were written by a 12 year old.. (which is most of
the rock out there today).
That's what made "Appetite" so brilliant, and Nirvana's "Nevermind", and
Soundgarden, and Faith no More.. it was all emotional rock music that
wasn't contrived, or at least didn't come off that way to me..
I seriously can't listen to radio today, it makes me barf..
Cheers,
TC
