I got my new UAD-1 card... Swapped out both of my old cards, one at a time.
Still getting extraneous clicking noises. I am seriously bummed. I called
uaudio tech support got the same old line - "We don't support Paris any more.
We don't support Mac OS 9 any more.

Are any Mac Paris users running UAD-1 Powered Plugins v.3.9? Are you having
problems?

Thanks!

Gantt

I didn't have any problems 'til I switched to v.3.9 either. Unfortunately,
if I go back to 3.8 I lose some of the newer FX.

I just finished attempting to go back to v.3.8 from v.3.9. I can't make it
work. I uninstalled all the UAD-1 3.9 stuff and re-installed 3.8 and I get
a message saying that there is a software mismatch and the plugins won't
work. I spoke w/ Casey at Universal Audio, who was very nice and tried to
be helpful, but in the end he couldn't figure it out either.

Have any Mac people gone from 3.9 back to 3.8?

I cleared out the System Extensions, the Preferences, the Bias Peak 3.0 LE
VST plugin folder, ther Paris VST plugin folder and the Powered Plugins Folder.
Trashed 'em all and emptied the trash. Where else is there to look?

Hi Gantt ,
I went from 3.9 back to 3.7 because it seems to
work more reliably. There is a UAD folder on
your boot drive, in the PARIS VST Folder and in system
folder-application support area.
hope that helps,
regards,
Mike

I'm pretty sure I found everything, but I guess I need to try again when I
have time. Funnily enough, I was able to mix using UAD-1 FX for 3 hours
tonight w/ no problems.

Hey Mike - Whay did you go back to 3.7 instead of 3.8?

I honestly don't remember .....
(I turned 50 a couple of weeks ago ;-)

PS In addition to the folders previously mentioned
I forgot the preference folder and
extension folder. In 9.2 all of that stuff needs to be
ripped out manually and trashed before you do a
clean install.

Hey Gantt!

You might want to try doing a clean install on a different drive, of the
OS, Paris, and UAD-1 vs. 3.7 to see if that will clear it up. It might get
you back to work quicker. If that doesn't work, you might want to looking
to the power supply, or the load on the PCI buss.

Thanks, James... I'll give that a try. I was thinking there might be a current
draw/power supply issue, so I put the UAD-1 cards in my Magma expansion chassis.
The computer wouldn't boot at all! Put the cards back in the Mac and it
booted fine.

Weird.
