Howdy!

Does anybody know if Apple has rolled out All of their new Intel-powerd
laptops? I can't figure it out.

Swen wants to replace his big, bad top-o-the-line Powerbook with the Intel
version, as his newly-ex-girlfriend has absconded with with the old one...

Hi Jimmy,
You will also have to make sure that all your hardware and software will
work on it. Older hardware drivers and software apps have to be recoded
to some degree in order to work on the Intel-Macs.

I'm sure faster MacBook Pros will be released at MacWorld in July. iBooks
will be released soon.

Actually.....ha....good point, but.....ha....

.....ahem.....

.....she took the soon-to-be-worthless Powerbook and he kept the $3,000.00
Microtech-Geffel tube mic as trade when they split up the stuff.

I'd say that he came out on top, in a big way. To put it very, very, very,
very mildly.

But don't tell the trollop.

I think you misread my post.

You dirty, dirty, dyslexic old man.

Let's be clear: HE got the mic, SHE got the Powerbook.

And if she had kept it, she would have over-sung her horribly pedestrian
songs into it.

I don't know what she would have used for a preamp/EQ/compressor, or for a
DAW, though, because those are his.....

Let's review for clarity: he/she, his/hers, etc. You can do it, I just know
it. You are a very smart man.

I promised myself never to post about platform issues again, so I won't. But
here's a good piece about the new dual core processors from Intel.

They're thinking that they will sell you some sort of kludge to allow this
and thereby, yet again, hose their customers for even more $$$$

(Oh God, I did it again.........I'm so sorry, but I just can't help
myself-when I see Mac posts it's like dangling raw meat over a pit full of
crocodiles)

Yes, only one. It has three USB 2.0, one Firewire 400, and one Firewire 800.
There is an adapter that plugs in to the FW 800 to give you two more FW
400 connections. You also have the option to use a FW 800 patch bay to add
more connections, and you can always daisy chain Firewire. I believe it's
up to 64 devices per port.

You can also plug in a second monitor for dual display. It will display
more than 4 million pixels on the 30" Apple Cinema HD display.

Here is the stock configuration for the Mac Book Pro 17":

17-inch widescreen display
1680 x 1050 resolution
2.16GHz Intel Core Duo(1)

1GB (single SODIMM) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM
120GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard drive
8x double-layer SuperDrive
ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 with 256MB GDDR3 memory
One FireWire 400, one FireWire 800, and three USB 2.0 ports

MacBook Pro also features a full-size backlit keyboard, Scrolling Trackpad,
AirPort Extreme wireless networking (802.11b/g), Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, ExpressCard/34
slot, dual-link DVI video out, Gigabit Ethernet, and optical digital and
analog audio in/out.

Hey Deej! I posted because uptown Jimmy was asking about a week ago, when
new MacBook Pros were coming out. Apple released them today.

I totally disagree with the opinion that Apple is selling a kludge, in fact
it's just the opposite. Although, it is my opinion that they are expensive,
but you get what you pay for!
