Do your own plumbing repairs,

Get a root canal?
I'm wondering myself...
Had to beat the plumber out of a 400.00 repair by rebuilding
the valves in the master shower.
Bought tools, made 2 trips to the hardware store for parts,
sweated like a pig... 4 hours of work.

Ok, so let's be honest, tools just rock...
Sooo, what is the coolest new tool you bought this year?
I got one of these.

Now I can walk in a building and go "yeah, that speaker throw
is 224.45 feet!"
Works great in the studio too for getting speakers in the same
plane and distance.

Ahhh the good old days. The house has a 1 bedroom rental unit in the basement,
most of the places around here do. Unlike all the fiscally responsible in
the hood, we use the apartment as additional living space. The only thing
I had to do on that end was to re-open a doorway to the staircase.
Anyway...
Since it was an apartment, it has a separate meter, panel and phone. I was
able to keep the server up and running in a closet, on DIALUP networking!,
no matter what was going on upstairs.
I remember firing up the heating system for the first time. When I heard
the sound of water cascading off the metal case of the netfinity server,
I realized that I had forgotten to cap the supply and return for a radiator
I had removed. Kept right on trucking. By the way, in a frenzy to get shit
done, I hand carried the cast iron radiator down a flight of stairs. Something
tore in my soul that day :-)

Yeah, I remember that... I wondered when you were sleeping, actually and how

I just did something like this solo... moved a piano with a little 2'x 1.5'
flat handeless dolly.
That completely and totally sucked and I'm not entirely sure that it was my
soul that tore, but I sure heard something rip (hack, cough)..dang I hate
