but I could spend days trying to lock it & still have some
drift, considering all that. I'm gonna program the drums in the
Fantom at 81 BPM, re-play the rhythm guitar part for him on
another track for reference, so he knows where I'm at in the
song for each drum pattern or fill, etc.; and then he can re-
track the rhythm part on his end once he dumps in the drums to
play along with. At this stage that's all he's recorded (the
rhythm part along with his click) so it's not like they'll have
to toss bass track, vox, etc.
Still... ARRRGH! If they were working in ANY kind of DAW it
would be easier - could import scratch tracks, MIDI, etc.

Thanks a bunch for the suggestions.
It's getting kinda hard to find the Steinberg Midex 3's as they've been discontinued
(so have the Midex 8's) but they're usually in the $120 to $150 range if
you can find them. The super tight midi sync apparently only happens with
Steinberg software though. Why wouldn't I just be able to use the midi in
on the Sierra/Dakota rig at the Tracktion machine and a Midex (or something
like it) on the Paris box?
I might just sell the Dakota/Sierra rig. It's kinda overkill for what I'm
doing anyway. I'm thinking about picking up an Emu 1212m
and a o

dangers smoking poses to public health, they'll have to do it at home.
In cities where the policy is to allow second hand smoke, those who want
to drink a beer in peace without breathing poisonous air will have to
drink at home.
Random thought: I wonder which policy results in fewer drunk drivers?
There's always the propaganda that if smoking is banned, bars and
restaraunts will lose business. In some cases that's true. But overall
it's not. Turns out that a lot of people enjoy breathing.
Glad to hear you've been off cigs for a while.

It might not be partitioned yet. Go to a command prompt and type FDISK.
Enable large disk support and set it up as a single partition.
Might have to reboot, then format.

Last time I saw alice cooper it was so smokey i was physically ill the
next day from being in a wall of smoke for 4 hours. Some of us really
don't get to see a lot of great acts due to smoke. So now I see mostly
outdoor events or non-smoking venues of which we have 2. But hey, life
is great.
