I still cant figureout whats going on with my paris setup. I posted earlier
under"Distortion" or something in the general section. Ive had paris a long
time and ive never had anything like this happen. I would really like it
if someone would respond or get ahold of me and perhaps help me troubleshoot
this as I have no clue. thanks

Mark,
Transferring from tape. Do you mean ADAT?
If so are you using XP? If so this is almost an impossible task.
Clock? Are you using an external clock? Check all your BNC and
card to card cables.
Try different "new" projects. Is this problem still occuring?
Sounds like the transfer is the problem.
Tell us more!

Tom............ Thanks for your reply. The transfers are from 2 inch,
I have a project that will play these tracks perfectly that seems in every
way identical to the projects that wont.
In fact, if I save a copy as, the tracks will play. If I clear the project
and import the same audio as full length (unedited) files, it will play fine.
However, when I try to open this project from the main Icon, it goes to hell.
This is on top of a clean install as well. I have had paris for 8 years or
so and finall y decided to get a magma and add a third card and a clock.
Perhaps Ive done too many things at once and I need to backtrack. What is
confusing is that projects i did before i dimed the meters work fine on all
3 cards. I thuoght a clean install would take care of it. I wonder if I missed
anything? I dug all the files I cuold find out of the system folder but perhaps
I missed something. The hardware is fine or the early projects wouldnt play
this audio, right? The install should have taken care of any software issues, right?
I am at a loss to explain or cure this problem. Does anyone have a comprehensive
list of what goes where on an install? Any help would be appreciated as this
is my livelyhood and I cant do any work. I have several projects going that
are way too complex to mix on the console. HELP. Thanks.

Mark, I read your original post, and agree with Aaron. I think it's a video
card issue. What vid card do you use? The way to test this, AFAIK is to get
a new card and see if that fixes it.
Maybe try re-installing the vidcard driver first.
Another thing I'm thinking is clocking. How do you sync up Paris to the 2
inch? Does your problem still persist when you record a fresh audio track
into that ppj? (just recording, not a transfer)
