Hey Folks,

After replacing a bad eds card in my computer I tried ghosting the system drive with a shareware program. Didn't like the way it worked so I uninstalled the software. It's the only change I made to the computer other than the eds card. Up until the software swap the system worked fine;

Athalon 1 gighz machine
532 meg ram
win 98se
3 eds - 1 mec
1 system dr - IDE - DMA off
I swap IDE data drives - They defaulted to DMA on - not sure if that's right.

Here's what's going on.
1st - My computer soundcard will not interface no matter how many times I remove and reinstall the driver

When Paris boots I get "Could not restore old MTC code set up".
Probably because the sound card or DX is not working properly.

I get an i/o config error but it's no big deal. The Mec etc work fine.

Here's the big one. On playback I get the "Can not stream data fast enough".

The system works fine; rec and playback for about 6 tracks, so my 3 card 24 track projects are not usable.

I have a hunch this is something to do with DirectX but I have no idea how to fix it.

I'm pretty sure I have Dx9 installed right now. I tried re-installing it etc but I'm still stuck. I also tried loading an old registry but win 98 isn't so great at making that happen.

I know this is old gear and I'd like to build another machine in the near future. Still need a working system in the meantime.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
Lance
