Hi All,
Switching from Paris to Logic and pretty much decided to go with the Apogee
Rosetta 800. I'll be using this on a Mac 3G quad core. Anyone care to comment
on the difference between a symphony card or the firewire interface? I'm
a little confused as to which is the way to go and why 1 may be better than
the other.

Is the Symphony a PCI/PCI-E card? AFAIK, that still gives you
better throughput than the bandwidth on a Fireware interface
can.

BTW, Bob Katz says Firewire tends to be more jitter-prone,
if that makes any difference to you, as well.

Yes.. Apogee makes a just avergage performing Firewire drivers.

Thanks for that input guys, I want a stable, trouble free system (well,as
close as I can come to that). Seems like every opinion I hear states something
to that effect about the firewire. I was hoping to hear better things about
the firewire interface so I could keep a PCI slot open, but seems like I'll
have to use one to ensure better and more stable performance. Leaning toward
the Symphony card.
