So, I'm looking seriously for a flying fader hardware controller for my home
mixing rig. So, I get in touch with one of my friends who is an 'industry
insider' that I still know from back when I was an 'industry insider.' Industry
insider says, 'Hands down, now question, the Euphonix Artist series. They
could double the price and sell them, couldn't use Logic without it.' I
remind him that I'm not a Mac guy. He says PC support should be ready now,
says he'll ask around.
I hear back, he says PC support was slated for April, the pushed back, now
for late '08. He also says he swears he saw a pretty solid version of the
Eucon software for the PC before, used with the Artist series. Then he opines
that he thinks Euphonix/Apple/Logic did a 'nod and wink' deal to keep the
product Mac only and that Euphonix is known as a 'Mac shop.'
Can anyone here confirm/deny any of this. It's might be FUD, but it makes
some sense.

Macs suck!!!
(dang, sorry, it just slipped out...).
I don't know, but the bass player in one of the bands I'm in just got
the Euphonix and loves it with Logic. He dumped the Logic Control fader
box which he says was junk in comparison. So if you can wait it out, it
sounds like their stuff is worth the wait. Or buy a Mac. ;^)
Cheers,
-Jamie

That would be a ridiculous business decision, unless they were paid to
stall the release (which would still be a bad choice). More likely they
just don't have experienced PC driver programmers.
Or else it's a conspiracy...

It's an evil Mac conspiracy, they even dropped Logic Studio 2 to $499, and
did you hear, they are trying to steal business customers with their iPhones
with Exchange server support?

There's no law that says people have to make smart business decisions.
