I am cobnvinced now that the best workuing method for triggering drums and
making a great drum production is at least also the following:
I bought me Digisound drumtriggers for 15 euros 8 pieces.
I attached them on sanre tom kick using doublesided adhesive tape and put
their output DIRECTLY to a SEPARATE Paris input module along with normal
recorded drums.
No preamp needed !!!
Just hook it unbalanced to Paris in and you get a healthy recorded sound
that sounds AWFUL but healthy enouph to drive DRUMAGOG, yes that beauty plugin.
Amazing results no false triggering because you actually use the sound and
not some fance trigger to midi to sound thing...
Just tailor drumagog to trigger the right way.
By the way their snare is fabulous.
These triggers are touch sensituive so you record the actual drumming with
volume variations.
The drumagog snae is multisampled (many many samples there) from very low
hits to very loud.
Vwery very convincing...
So you record different tracks , kick snare toms and yiou put drumagog on
every one with appropriatte samples.
Use your drum overhead for some room ambience or you cam use some good reverb
for creating that.
You can also attach them to cymbals !!.
I am sure it will work just fine.
The hihat is a problem though so kepp this live ! :)
You can kepp all your cymbals live by the way ...
Perfect world we live in right?
ow I will not care if I will record that perfect snare that will not contain
that hihat again in it...
Regards,
Dimitrios
