Don-
Do you have a friend who's a good guitar player? If you know one, ask if
they'll go with you to a store with lots of used guitars, and have them try
'em out and see if there's a good cheap one. There's often one good cheap
one. If not, well, you haven't lost anything but some time, and perhaps you'll
pick up some pointers.
If you find one, have your daughter try it. If it makes her want to play
and it's easy to play and sounds good, you've got a winner.
I haven't bought a new guitar since 1971. (And that one turned out to be
a lemon...)

Seagulls are nice, just check them closely as some are not. Great price
though.
