Pete,
Here's Chris' response.

Hi Tom,
If the on board video is shared then I don't think it would be worth
while for audio work. I would suck balls for gaming!
It should be fine for Internet though. It is probably a Via or SIS =
chip
set which can also be an issue. Also the power supply is at best 200
watts and probably not replaceable with a standard atx one.

ow for sure that it will work.

The K8V has already been tested, and the only difference between that and
the A8V seems to be the A8V has the "PRO" version of the chipset, and supports
the newer 939 slot standard, which would seem the more sensible option. The
only other difference I can see is that the A8V has both optical and coaxial
SPDIF outputs which would also be handy of course.

So I'm tossing up whether to take the chance on the untested but better A8V,
or run with the already tested K8V. Price is almost identical for the two.

'm thinking I'll try out the A8V.

Cheers,
Kim.When I first met Scott he was playing w/ Al Williams and Friends
at The Wharf in Old Town Alexandria, VA every Monday night.
They hired my girlfriend to sing w/ them, so I got to hear Scott most
every Monday if I wasn't working. Every night they'd give him an
open ended bass solo that lasted as long as 15 - 20 minutes. Hard to
believe it never got boring to listen to him, but it's a fact!
