Greetings.
For those of you with DirectX plugin woes, I have come across a
wonderful DX wrapper plugin (vst), which has saved my bacon yet
again with certain combinations of plugins causing popping, and
even loss of audio.
This is a freeware VST plugin which allows you to chain up to four
DX plugins, using just one Paris Native FX slot.
Better still, you can save these combinations as a preset.
Even better, you can simply drag and drop the plugins to rearrange
their order in the chain.
I have been having problems over the years with certain DX plugins
causing pops at the beginning of segments, but those same plugin
combinations seem very stable when wrapped in this baby.
Of course, being a DX wrapper only, doesn't mean you can't use
VST plugs. Simply use the "wrapped" versions you probably already have,
courtesy of the FXpansion wrapper, and you are good to go.
In theory, this opens up the possibility of 16 native inserts
on any Paris channel.
I'm going to set up a template with one of these on every channel
of my default project and use this as my new plugin manager within
Paris. Just being able to reorganize the order of plugins by dragging/
dropping, is worth it.
Not sure yet, but this plugin could solve the instability
everyone experiences with paris and certain plugins.
It's available here:
http://pagesperso-orange.fr/vb-audio/us/products/dxrack/dxra ck.htm
Scroll to the bottom of the page to get the freeware 4-slot
version.
These guys also have a wonderful plugin manager, which allows you
to disable unused DX plugins, without having to deinstall them.
You can reenable them at any time.
This is great for those who are tired of scrolling through a huge
list of available plugins within Paris.
It's available here:
http://pagesperso-orange.fr/vb-audio/us/mm/plugman/vb_plugma n.htm
It's little tools like these, as well as Mike's new EDS plugins
which help keep my vibe on Paris intact.
I'm yet to look into the Faderworks plugin, but it looks
promising.

Oops, gave a little wrong information.
The ffx-4 is a DX plugin manager, in the form of a DX plugin. (not a vst
plugin, as indicated).
The rest still stands.

Hi Kim,
This program makes lots of things better in Paris
when working. It's a great find.
I think Dimitrios told us about this a while back.
I tried it along with Senderella and something else
and my C drive stopped working. I was never sure
which program was the problem for me. I have
been very timid about new programs integrating
with Paris ever since.
Just be careful and ghost your machine asap if
you haven't already.
