Hi John,

Aaron and I are thinking of coming up there earlier in the week. I'll likely
be up there on the afternoon of Thursday, the 3rd. What are your plans for
Thursday and Friday? I think Mr. Snortyhorse will be in the area then as
well.

;o)

Thursday day is pretty cool. Thursday night an old friend
from Texas is playing at Swallow Hill and I must attend. But
always up for late night cocktails...

Friday day is open, but Friday night my daughter's dance
showcase at school happens, and I absolutely have to be there
from 7-10... Of course, late night cocktails are always a good
thing...

Saturday day is free till 7:30, with a gig that night...

Swallow Hill ? I've heard of that place. I think some of my studio
clients..............http://www.waywordsons.com/ .............have talked to
me about it. They may have played there before as well. Can't remember for
sure, but IIRC, the word was good.

You up for some company there Thurs nite? I seriously wouldn't want to
interfere with a reunion between old friends and would certainly understand
if this wasn'tworkable. I'm just thinking that this might be an easy way to
get some folks together in one room.

.......but then again, my thinking gets me into trouble on a regular
basis........

I'm thinking late night cocktails is the theme for the meet...I'd love to be
there but alas my passport has expired and it looks like a minimum six week
wait for a renewal...assuming of course I can find a Clergyman and a Lawyer
willing to vouch for me

:-)

You don't need a passport. Denver is a *sanctuary city*. Everyone's welcome,
and we won't turn you in.

This is prolly doable for me if the invite is up, but I'll need a bit of
time to find a hotel and settle in for a few. Anyone got a suggestion on
hotels / motels in the area?

Heck, we can all go there--I've been thrown out
of better places than that... :)

What part of town are you looking for a hotel?

No clue about a hotel yet. I'm gonna rent a Mustang convertible for the trip
though (I'd rent something else, but Mustangs are all they've got around
here). If I was 40 years younger I'd just sleep in the car (or not sleep at
all)

You know of any reasonable hotels in the area that would put up with an old
reprobate like me? I'll promise not to mod anything.

;o)

If this goes well, I REALLLLLLLYYYYYYY want to plan another one later
in the year when I have a bit more cash and some actual days off
accrued. I'm so pissed that I have to miss this shindig - I've been
friends with youse guys for years now and have yet to actually meet
anyone face-to-face....

I thought we were all just going to stay in Deej's barn & jam
out in his studio.

If we're not gonna do all that, then count me out.

I'll be in Co. Springs on the 3rd. My gigs going to be a balls to the wall
situation, time wise though, I doubt that I'll be able to break free, to
get up to Denver.

So what's the plan? Thursday? Friday? Saturday?

My schedule is still coalescing so let me know what's under
consideration and I'll make what I can. I hope to see you guys!

Cheers,

I'm planning to try to arrive late Wed night, get some sleep and attack the
town on Thursday/Friday/Sat. Still waiting on a call back to solidify those
plans, but that's it the basics for me right now. Hitting the local AAA
office for info today as well as doing some car road trip maintenance.

I will be looking for hotel/motel info the rest of today, any suggestions
from the local dudes? Any sites, food, must-see stuff?

Aaron,

Looks like things are a go for sure. I just found out today. I'll be there
Thursday night. Where *there* is, isn't known quite yet. Where would the
best place to designate as "there"?

Lemme hit up AAA today, see what's good and see what kind of feedback we get
from the local boys.. call you tonight? If you get a moment, I've actually
started my vacation at this point throughout the week so I'm pretty open.
I've only been to Denver once, and that was passing through about 10 years
ago. Suggestions welcome :)

Places to see? I'll start the list with these:

-Red Rocks Amphitheater
-Museum of Nature and Science
-Denver Zoo

And, if you're into skiing, head West from here. Not sure when ski
resorts are closing so be sure to double check their web sites.

I don't have any hotel suggestions other than that there are a lot of
'em from fleabags to new downtown highrises. So you can choose your
level of luxury or lack thereof. :^)

Cheers,
-Jamie

Well, lunch Friday sounds like all will be
available--my schedule still holds as above.
I am working on my new studio in SE Denver
and also at the one in west Denver... Pretty
loose schedule other than the required stuff...

Email me and I'll send you my cell number...

Lunch on Friday works for me. Email me for my phone number (John, you
have mail...).

Are you building a new studio, John? Maybe we could meet nearby and you
could give us a tour.

Cheers,

OK--I spoke to Jamie--it's Tai food Thursday
lunch and Mexican Friday (or vice-versa) at a
couple of our favorite joints--and a trip to
Jamie's setup and both of my locations. Everything
else up for the spur of the moment...???
