I've been looking for some 'decent' live mics for my 7 piece(piccolo snr,
8/10/12/14/16 toms & 20" kik) drum kit to start using in a month or so....
came across these for cheap. I was wondering if anyone has any hands on live
experience (or studio for that matter, though I'll probably only use them
live) with this micing kit.

Thanks guys!

Hey Aaron -

I can't remember the name of the company - but someone here mentioned (a
while back) some drum mics that the old engineers from CAD, now in
Tennessee, are making. I think they are pretty cheap, but had really great
results. Definitely worth at least taking a look at, IMO. I don't think they
are available at GC or MF.

rock on,

Lo and behold, the company is Equation Audio, and this is their link -
http://www.equationaudio.com/

I haven't tried these myself, but for the price, I might sometime soon.

Carl, I tracked down the dealers in my area... no refunds on the equation
audio - exchange only but they don't do Shure or Audix ... shoot..... to top
off they wanted $129 for one kick mic when MusFrnd wanted $129 for the 4
piece pack of CAD in a flight type paded case (same kick plus 3 tom/snr
mics). Guess I can't help out the local boys on this one.

There is a place closer to you, Rawson Audio in OKC... know anything about
them? No other Equation dealers in our state looks like. This could be worth
a trip to OKC if they have a better return policy, care to join me if that
works out?

Good catch on the name, I couldn't remember it either but you have saved the
day :)

I can ask around Aaron and see if anyone local has them in stock. I surely
like to try stuff out before I buy it. Although - I can't say I'm needing
any drum mics right now, but I'd be glad to help you out.

That looks like a price for just the mic clips .

Hey Aaron -

Rawson carries them, but doesn't have any. Generally, I don't like that
place anyway - they told me they had Nady and Samson mics on hand, and could
"get ahold" of some Shure mics. Ahhh, dealing with music salespeople.... I
might just give EA a call themselves and see what the deal is.
