.......for UAD-1 cards. In an earlier post, I reported that PDC was working
in SX when sending/returning audio from Paris, through UAD-1 plugins, then
back to Paris. This is true, but it has it's limits. It works when the
buffers in SX are set to 64k or 128k. Any more than this and the PDC engine
in SX can't manage. I am finding the same situatiion in beta testing a
similar situation for a software developer who is trying to get something
similar happening using a VSTi. there seems to be a limit to what the Cubase
SX PDC can handle in *real time*. This is much more problematic when using
Cubase SX as the audio host and instantiating VSTi's than it is when just
passing audio through the tracks when SX isn't actually streaming the audio
from the app. I'm sending/returning 32 tracks of Paris audio through Cubase
SX right now with 21 UAD-1 plugins inserted in Cubase SX which is basically
acting as a standalone FX processor for Paris. Buffers are set to 64k. The
CPU usage on my dual core AMD 4200 is around 30% and PDC is working fine. No
flamming. Now, if I can get this kind of PDC happening when using FXT from a
with x UAD-1 cards while keeping two UAD-1 cards in the Cubase SX host
machine, I'll have achieved my goal of *wretched excess*
