James, I read this yesterday in a post on gearslutz. Man, I wantd to post
about this rumor yesterday, but got a little busy.

Well, I'm saying it hear first. Being an ex Logic man (Best soft sequencer
in the world), if they have such said product like they are saying: "Entirely
new product, with Apple's simplicity meets Power...I'm there .Completely
there!!! With a Quad-core Mac.

I'm hereing new interface, beat-detection, touch screen(s) for mixing and
editing(no mixer controller needed), new audio engine, summing, the whole
nice yards!! AND will only work in Lepoard (Osx64)..drawing line btw the
old Logic Pro and the new.
excited...

Seems like a pretty far fetched rumor, esp. since that's what the author
says it is.

The rumor that was actually published in Keyboard magazine (which usually
means it's a little more than rumor
since they probably don't want to get sued) is that Logic 8 is coming this
year - when, or what show
it will be introduced is unknown though. Hopefully for Logic users, it will
in fact be a substantial revision.

Interesting speculation though. I don't use Logic, but I still think it's
pretty darn cool. Some day I'll probably break down and
get a Mac just to run Logic - just not sure how to justify running a second
sequencer and for what purpose though. :-)

Remember rumors are rumors. I wouldn't get your hopes up too high, this could
take years! The iPhone must have been 4 years of rumors, and some products
took even longer to show up. Many things are like that with Apple. The
good thing is, it's most likely on it's way.

I've got to admit, I hope there is an announcement at NAB in april. Apple
is always full of surprises.
