I've been doing some mixing, and have been trying to do some parallel compressing
using Mike's version of No Limit with another track. I've noticed 2 things.
First, the latency is different than Chucks original version. With the lookahead
set to 25 ms (which is where I usually put it, I haven't tested other lookaheads
on Mikes pulg yet)to get Chucks No Limit sample accurate I nudged back 27
ms (25+1+1) in Paris (at 44.1)
and set sampleslide to 78 samples. This yeilded total cancellation with the
source track. With Mike's No Limit, set to 25 ms, I have to back up only
25 ms (the 25 button) and add in 16 samples on sample slide to cancel.
One other interesting thing worth noting is cancellation happens at "0%"
and "93%" on the mix knob, assuming both channels are set to the same level.
If I go to 100% on the mix knob, cancellation happens when I raise the fader
of the Nolimit channel to 0.9 (the comparason channel is set to 0)
Interesting, but not an issue.
The latency change is worth noting if your doing some Parellel compression
or compressing some phase coherent mics, like in a drum kit.
