So I have confirmed that at least under XP ,don't know if it is OS related
bug, There is a bug where the track 5 and 6 of ADAT Paris OUT do NOT work.
Out of four adat cards I have the three confirm this !
The only case the fourth works is inside the mec where ONLY TWO adat cards
are installed without any other in out cards.
I don't know if I would take out my input cards if that woukld be solved
but really cannot take that trouble right now !
I thought in the beginning that one of my adat cards were faulty but three
with same 5,6 SEND ONLY adat ports not working ?? nehh
Well the ADAT INS work !! , I mean the 5,5 adat inputs work.
So the problem is you cannot closse the adat loop for insert purpose on tracks
5 and 6.
I even changed the eds card as EDNA suggested but same results so this has
eliminated the EDS card problem.
Well I don't know if I have 3 out of 4 eds cards malfunctioning ...
I would like someone from you if he could thest somehow the above scenario.
I would appreciatte.
Regards,
Dimitrios

Win ME is your friend if you want to use multiple ADAT cards in multiple
MECs. Win XP, not so much. I did get two ADAT cards working properly in 1 of
3 MECs running Win XP, but no more.

Have you tried:
1 - Routing something OTHER than Insert Sends to these ADAT outputs (Main
Outs, Auxes etc)?
2 - Switching the EDS card / MEC assignment in the Master Mixer (ie, if the
troublesome ADAT outs are on MEC1 connected to Submix 1 playing off CardA,
does the same problem exist when you assign MEC1 / CardA to Submix 2 etc)
3 - Changing your EDS cards (basically, label them, pull them out, and put
them in the same PCI slots, in a different order - put a different EDS card
in the slot for the ADAT MEC).

I had a similar problem, but it was ADAT OUT 3 and 4 on MEC1 connected to
EDS Card A in a three card system on WinME. On this same MEC, there were a
total of (2) ADAT, (2) 8-input, (2) 8-output.

I had the same symptoms though - swapped ADAT cards and OUT 3 and 4 still
didn't wor, but the "bad" card suddenly worked in a different hole. The
"good" card displayed the same problem as the "bad" one.

I yanked and moved the EDS cards in my system and connected the MEC to a
different Card A and the problem went away with both the original ADAT and
the swapped ADAT.

I concluded it to be an EDS Insert problem on a specific EDS card - not an
OS thing. Something about the way the Insert Sends were handled on that EDS
card. Could be a loose connection on a board, a bad or dying chip etc. I
never bothered to check if you could route Auxes or Mains to the same
questionable outputs (and if I couldn't, it would be a bigger problem).
