DJ-Did You Find a Magma Cable? [message #76255]

I recently bought an older PCI-7-AVID, which is a rackmount 7 slot PCI expansion
system made by Magma. It works fine (although it is noisy as hell)but the
flat grey cable that came with it is about 18 inches long. I need to find
a longer one, and Magma is not exactly helpful in the matter. I see that
you were for this cable this past summer, and wondered if you found a source.

Gary,

I posted this info to Gene Lennon about a week ago. I can't find it now. Do
a search and see if you can locate it. It should be pretty recent.

Yes,

They appear to be the standard 80mm cooling fans. Replacing them with
something like quiet Pabst fans should be no problem.

Possible Cable Solution Found. In pursuing this online, I caught a reference
to the acronym VHDCI in describing this cable. I asked Magma tech support
if the was indeed the descriptor for the cable, and got this response:

"We don't have this information available. I can only provide the general
info, this old cable is a standard SCSI VHDCI.

NOTE: The new cable we have now is not a SCSI type cable."

Pursuing the VHDCI trail, I came upon this:

Which looks to be our guy. 3 and 6 foot lengths.

Nope. That's a 68 pin cable. the Flat cable is 80 pin.

Sorry to raise false hopes. I just got home and checked my cable, which
is labeled 3M and says 80 on one side and 79 on the other. I counted the
holes and it is indeed an 80 pin connection. Back to the search.
