Some of them are a little average though. Despite the corn, I was a fan of
the one about making sure you have a car... ;o)

I just recently went through kinda the same situation. Getting blue screen
or total lock up and finding the culprit is very frustrating. I thought it
was my motherboard. Replaced it, with new CPU and memory... rebuilt a computer
with the old motherboard and it worked perfectly fine. Come to find out...
it was the video card (an ASUS). Totally had me baffled and cost me over
300 bucks. Never again will I buy an ASUS product!

Anyway, what I would suggest is to start with this tactic. Remove all your
components. Boot up and see if it's ok. If so, then start putting components
back in, one at a time to find the culprit.

My experience with windows is that I never rely on the BSOD message. But
I used to get that "VXD" message occasionally when I use to use Win98. It
usually meant a hardward problem. I use Win2000 now and I will stick with
it, pe
