One of the nice things about vst is that there's a lot of free
plugins out there for it. I came across these the other day...
go check 'em out, there's quite a few.

They're very simple, for the most part, but the ones I've tried
so far have turned out to be really clean & don't seem to be
very cpu-intensive at all.
