Man, this is just another sign of the end of Paris... I can't sell nothing on the For Sale here (zero interested). I can't get no bids on Paris stuff on ebay (3 watchers that do nothing for 4 days) -- other ebay sellers have zero bids on their Paris stuff too.

I just bought the new drivers thinking I might try to do some mixdowns in Paris again, but changed my mind since I got a new UAD-2.

And the prices are getting even lower... and about 5 total people here still posting... Not a good day in Paris land...

(ok, I am done ranting...)

I've got a guy watching the For Sales like a hawk, waiting for a check to clear. The traffic problems on the group have something to do with the broken sync between NG and forums; some posts are winding up in the NG and some on the forum. I'm in the process of troubleshooting it with the forum's developer right now and we expect a resolution shortly (free time was at a bit of a premium this weekend but he's given me a list of stuff to run down).

PARIS' death has been foretold regularly for years. But most of the facilities I'm familiar with have been actively *expanding* their rigs for months now, getting ready for the new ASIO drivers amongst other things.

Shocked Dude, What stuff are you selling? And like Kerry said, some of us are still expanding our rigs, (even us APPLE dudes). But, I still miss 2 inch tape, and ride a motorcycle with a kick starter on it. OLD SCHOOL, I know!

Nice to have you aboard, John - cool things coming down the pipe for PARIS, too. Mike Audet has been quiet, but I'm guessing not idle Very Happy

PARIS isn't dead over here. Smile

I've been chipping away at the ASIO driver. I've mapped out hour it works, and I'm trying to get 24 bit audio to work. Right now, there is some kind of buffer issue that makes 24 bit audio come out badly distorted. I've asked a friend of mine to give me a hand with some math that is a bit beyond me so I can see about writing a filter to change the format of the samples at it pases though the driver (if that is what is needed).

I'm definitely on it. Plus, the school year is over in 6 weeks, and then I've got the summer to really get down to business with it.

All the best,

Mike

Hey Mike - very interesting symptom - do you think it could be the same 24-bit "endian" issue that we've encountered with the 24-bit PAF translations? See this post for a screencap of the resulting waveform.
